Hello there! Welcome to my embark on this food-influenced journey! 

My story begins around the time of May 2014. At this point I was the heaviest weight I have ever been in my life at nineteen years old. I gained a college 30 over the past two years and had little control or decent habits on nutrition. I wasn't treating my body well, and food was the enemy. 


Fall 2014 is where I noticed something odd. My digestive system acted abnormal almost everyday. After seeing doctors and specialists for months, the conclusion was that I was lactose intolerant with a very high sensitivity for milk. This was very hard to adapt to, I had dairy with almost every meal! I had to find different dairy alternatives which took a while, but I eventually got used to it. 

By January in 2015 I was sticking to dairy-free milk and found yummy dairy-free foods and desserts. By doing this, I also became educated on nutrition and started cooking a lot more to make meals that fit my preferences. There were plenty of ways for me to find more natural and healthier alternatives and still enjoy every taste of food. I eventually started cooking for my family instead of just myself, and gained really good practice in the kitchen!

I started to love all the meals I found and thrived with making better choices, as well as encouraging my family and friends to make better choices too. By May 2015, one year later, I had lost the 30 pounds and I am now continuing to live the healthiest version of myself ever! 

This blog is not the end of my story, but rather the beginning of a new story! Fabulous Foodie is a way for me to document my passion, talk about it, share it, and inspire others! My change in habits gave me passion. I found love with so many new foods and realized new ways to cook foods I have always eaten. I discovered recipes and fell in love with the way flavors wrap around food and compliment each other. I became creative. I felt alive. I love food!

I am here to teach and inspire easy ways for people to view what the term "healthy" means. It's flavor, it's color, it's natural, delicious, it's BALANCE and most importantly, it's fabulous!






Fun Facts about the Chef:


- I don't have a favorite meal or food, but sushi is the closest thing for me!

- I hate to love coffee/caffeine 

- Huge dog lover! AJ is a coon hound mix and Roxy is a Yorkie mix. They are awesome. 



- I am surrounded by people who teach and inspire me everyday!

- I wish summer and fall would alternate New England weather year-round

- There is always a burning desire in me to travel 

- Boston is my city, but I also love Chicago, DC, and Philadelphia to name a few 

- Life is too short! I believe in hard work the same way I believe in relaxation. It's necessary for a happy well-balanced life. Nobody has the perfect recipe for happiness, it's developing, learning, and accepting what is put on your plate and making the best of it!
